Robert (Robin) Stokes was UNE's first Professor of Chemistry, holding the position of Professor of Physical and Inorganic Chemistry from 1955 until his retirement in 1979, when he was made an Emeritus Professor. Professor Stokes passed away in November 2016. This endowed scholarship has been created by a bequest in his Will allowing for his great legacy at UNE to continue.
