European Solidarity Corps (ESC) is offering a Volunteer opportunity in Armenia for Egyptians to be part of the HUJ Voluntary Service of Armenia.

Project Description:

Voluntary Service of Armenia - Republican Headquarters of Student Brigades (HUJ) was founded in 1965 and is a registered Non-Profit Non-Governmental Organisation and is situated in Yerevan, the administrative, cultural, and industrial centre of the country. HUJ is a member of the Coordinating Committee of International Voluntary Service (CCIVS) at UNESCO and the Alliance of European Voluntary Service Organisations. 

Volunteer Responsibilities:

The principal tasks will be:

  • Assistance in HUJ activities and promotion of volunteering lifestyle. 
  • Support and active participation in conferences, meetings, training courses, seminars and other similar events.
  • Assistance in organization of international voluntary workcamps.
  • Promotion of HUJ Volunteering Project by going and having a speeches and presentations in different Universities of Armenia.

Financial Support:

Volunteer will be provided with a good accommodation dormitory of Yerevan Brusov State University which is close to Yerevan city center, the capital of Armenia, where they live with nearly 15 long term HUJ volunteers from different European countries. Each Month the volunteer will receive Pocket Money and Money for Food and Transportation. The Volunteer will also have Armenian class in a language center twice a week.

Training During the Project:

After His/Her Arrival in Armenia, The volunteer will meet the staff of Huj Office and be introduce to His/Her Mentor. They will go around the city for some cultural visit. For long term ECS/EVS: 2 trainings will take place in Georgia (On arrival training and mid term training) For short term ESC/EVS: 1 training will take place in Georgia (On arrival training).

Requirements:

There are no gender, age and other requirements for the selection/recruitment of volunteers. The volunteer should be open-minded, flexible, creative and communicative. The volunteer should be able to communicate in English or French to allow him/her a better integration in the team. During his/her Service, the volunteer will work with people who have a great experience of working with youth from different backgrounds and will become a full member of the team.

The European Solidarity Corps:

The European Solidarity Corps is the new European Union initiative that creates opportunities for young people to volunteer or work in projects in their own country or abroad that benefit the community and people around Europe.
