Every year, FACES selects forty outstanding delegates from around the world to attend the FACES Summit. The Summit takes place in two sessions, first at Stanford and then in China. The China session of the 2019-20 Summit will take place at Peking University. Delegates are required to attend both sessions.

If you have not done so yet, we invite you to read our Fall 2018 Summit Report to learn more about what happens at the Stanford session of the Summit.

Eligibility Requirements

Funding and Travel Scholarships

FACES covers all food, accommodation and programming costs during the Summit. Participants are responsible for other expenses including flight and visa costs. There is no registration or participation fee for our program. A limited number of scholarships are provided to delegates with demonstrated need to partially cover travel costs. We strive to ensure that no applicant is turned way from participating due to personal financial circumstances. For details of our scholarship policy, please see our Guidelines on Travel Scholarships.

Delegate Selection Criteria

Delegates are selected for their potential to both benefit from and contribute to the Summit. Delegates chosen demonstrate potential to translate what they learn at the Summit into future action and results in their field. We look for a diverse and creative delegate cohort, with interests spanning business, politics, humanities, and engineering among others. With the expectation that delegate-to-delegate interactions are the foundation of the FACES Summit, we believe that applicants should demonstrate a strong willingness to share ideas, experiences, and perspectives, as well as a robust capacity to develop as a member of the FACES community in the long-term.

The application process has two rounds. Applicants are first asked to complete a written application and submit their resume/CV. Those selected for the second-round interview will be notified by mid to late August. Final admissions results will be released in September. All time listed on this page are in Pacific Standard Time (UTC-7).
