Duties

Qualifications for Vacancy for Development Coordination Officer

Education

Advanced university degree (Masters degree or equivalent degree) in economics, sustainable development, public policy, business or public administration, social sciences, education or related area. A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.

Additionally, specialization in economics is desirable.

Furthermore, specialization in development economics is desirable.

Work Experience

A minimum of seven years of progressively responsible experience in:

Sustainable development policy, economic analysis OR

Project/program management in the context of development cooperation or related area.

Additionally, three years of experience in economics, fiscal policy challenges in low-income or middle-income countries.

Also, at least three years of experience in research, data analysis, and econometric modeling is desirable.

Likewise, experience in the United Nations system or a comparable international organization is desirable.

Furthermore, experience providing advice on economic policy formulation is desirable.

Languages

English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the post, the incumbent must have fluency in English. Knowledge of an additional UN Language is desirable.
