The European Solidarity Corps is organizing the SoliDARE online event, which is a three-day workshop aimed at bringing together representatives from organizations active in the European Solidarity Corps. The event aims to start building up the community of organizations that are part of the European Solidarity Corps network. The European Solidarity Corps Resource Centre together with Romanian National Agency and Polish National Agency is developing the international event “SoliDARE” taking place in two different processes: virtual meeting (October 2020) and the residential meeting planned for November 2020 in Romania, a three full-day event. This is the 1st edition of a series of events that will support community building for organizations, which are coordinated by the European Solidarity Corps Resource Centre.
The event aims to bring together representatives from organizations and informal groups, active in the European Solidarity Corps program. The methods used are part of a participatory methodology. The participants will co-create the content of the meeting.
The overall objectives of the event are:
The three online SoliDARE meetings are aimed at exploring the meaning of solidarity in times of Covid-19, locally and internationally and building an international community of people and organizations that have the willingness and the courage to give hands and feed to solidarity in their own context (locally and/or internationally). After the online meetings, a residential event is planned to happen in Romania. For that event, another application procedure will be open. The selected participants for the online meetings will have priority for the residential meeting.
The meetings will be in three different weeks, with a duration of 3h, starting at 10:00 CET up to 13:00 CET.
During the first online event ‘SoliDARE Covid-19!’ participants will explore what solidarity means and looks like in Covid-19 times and what role the European Solidarity Corps community can play in it.
In the second online event ‘SoliDARE your community’ participants will focus on what solidarity in the community looks like and how European Solidarity Programme activities can contribute to it.
The third online event ‘SoliDARE internationally!’ will focus on the added value of international cooperation in the frame of the European Solidarity Corps program and how being part of a community can support international solidarity.
The European Solidarity Corps is the new European Union initiative that creates opportunities for young people to volunteer or work in projects in their own country or abroad that benefit community and people around Europe.
