IRC announces a job opportunity in USA to work as a volunteer coordinator who will be responsible for collaborating with IRC staff to determine volunteer and intern needs; recruit, screen, train and supervise volunteers and interns; provide on-going support and guidance for volunteers and interns; and manage volunteer information in a central database system. Supervision of interns includes social work students receiving their bachelor’s or master’s degrees.

Eligibility:

You must have:

Minimum of 3 years of related experience, including at least 2 years of experience managing social work field placements.
Proven ability to contribute both independently and as a key team member.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Self- starter with excellent problem-solving skills combined with the proven ability to multi-task, prioritize duties, and manage time effectively.
Ability to prioritize and to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Be well organized with attention to detail.
Ability to work effectively in a multi-cultural setting.
Self-direction and initiative, when needed, to take the lead and to follow through to completion.
M.A. in social work.
Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
LMSW certificate.
Occasional meetings with partner organizations in the community.
A valid driver’s license with legally required insurance. Position will require using own transportation within service delivery area.

Your Responsibilities:

You will be responsible of:

Coordinate with staff to determine volunteer and intern needs.
Recruit and interview volunteers and interns from the community, local universities/colleges, and corporations.
Conduct information sessions for potential volunteers, interns, and social work placements.
Conduct orientation sessions for all accepted volunteers, interns, and social work placements.
Maintain regular communication and act as a liaison between IRC staff and volunteers, interns, and social work placements.
Maintain intern and volunteer files.
Actively participate in the volunteer coordination communities of practice.
Conduct recognition events for volunteers and interns.
Work with department supervisors to determine social work field placement opportunities based on department need.
Develop and maintain productive relationships with Texas educational institutions with social work and internship programs.
Provide ongoing supervision hours to social work field placements, as dictated by the educational institution supporting the placement.
Coordinate with social work students to complete necessary field placement administration, including placement evaluations required by educational institution.
Solicit and acquire in-kind donations.
Track service hours in database system for volunteers and interns.
Ensure compliance with confidentiality and reporting requirements.
Other duties as assigned.
