The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is offering an internship opportunity in Measurement to join the team in New York, USA for 2020. 

Responsibilities:

  1. Support administration and implementation of measurement data collection tools across RAI network.
  2. Assist with data management and cleaning, as well as quality control and data analysis.
  3. Assist with development of evidence summaries for RAI programming.
  4. Contribute to developing and maintaining M&E related training resources and communication materials.
  5. Provide logistical support for meetings and trainings.
  6. Other related duties as assigned.

Learning objectives:

  1. The intern will learn skills for operationalizing M&E in a nonprofit program management context.
  2. The intern will enhance skills in data collection, data cleaning, knowledge management, research, and visual presentation.
  3. The intern will develop an understanding of the challenges and opportunities in designing effective M&E systems.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree or coursework in international studies, social work, or a related field preferred.
  2. Experience and/or coursework in knowledge/data management or M&E research methods.
  3. Experience developing literature reviews and/or evidence summaries.
  4. Demonstrated ability to work independently on projects with minimal supervision.
  5. Excellent, demonstrated skills in Microsoft Excel.
  6. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
