Applications call for Postdoctoral Associate at Virginia Tech in the United States

This position is available for Research Faculty Virginia College of Veterinary Medicine Polytechnic Institute and State University. The Post-Doctoral Research Fellow will lead independent research projects within the Group in order to jointly achieve the objectives of the program on the Identification and validation of novel antimicrobial targets in multidrug-resistant pathogens.

Position Summary

The Post-Doctoral Research Fellow will work on specific projects which may include identification and validation of novel antimicrobial targets and characterization of molecular mechanisms of drug resistance. Successful candidates will use and develop techniques for identifying the molecular target of small molecules (antimicrobials, antibiotics, antifungal) and will be responsible for performing animal experiments and testing the efficacy of new antimicrobials in animal models. The techniques used may be the biochemical-based and microbiological-based approaches, biophysics, genetics, chemical biology, proteomics, or other disciplines.
