Summary

The Deputy Director-General position supports the Director-General in key management aspects of the organisation including but not limited to ensuring the development and timely implementation of an integrated IUCN programme

The Deputy Director-General has a key leadership role in IUCN, working closely with the Director-General to implement the strategy of the Union while having particular responsibility for leading a cohesive and integrated Programme of work for all of IUCNs components. Also, he/she supports the work of the Director-General to maintain the viability, reputation and standing of IUCN and ensure the effective performance of its global distributed Secretariat.
