A differential tuition fee exemption will be awarded to new international students enrolled full time in a French-language program or who are enrolled in an English-language program with a French immersion option. The program is available for foreign students enrolling in Undergraduate and graduate programs at the University of Ottawa for the 2020/2021 academic year.

Selected candidate will pay tuition fees at the rate of Canadian citizens and permanent residents. For example:
an international student enrolling for fall term (September to December) in a Chemical engineering (Undergraduate level) need to pay around $27,129.44 CDN. However, with the differential tuition fee exemption status, he will only pay around $5,500 CDN. He would have received around $21,600 CDN in tuition reduction.
a foreign student registering for fall term (September to December) in a Chemical engineering (Master of Engineering) need to pay around $12,000 CDN. However, with the differential tuition fee exemption status, he will only pay around $3,960 CDN. He would have received about $8,040 CDN in tuition reduction.

Applicants first need to apply and get admission for an undergraduate or graduate degree program at the University of Ottawa. If they meet the program’s criteria, they will be awarded the Differential Tuition Fee Exemption.
