Applications call for European Drug Prevention Prize 2021. The Pompidou Group calls for youth projects to submit applications for the 2021 edition of the European Drug Prevention Prize. Applications should be submitted using the below application form and respecting the eligibility criteria and procedures detailed in the document Concept, rules, procedures. The deadline for applications is 30 November 2020. Its objective is to recognize the importance of active youth participation in creating a better and healthier environment.

Launched in 2004, the Prevention Prize is awarded to highlight outstanding drug prevention projects that have proved successful in involving young people in their design, implementation and evaluation. It aims to increase awareness of the importance of active youth participation in reducing drug-related harm and creating healthier citizens and communities across Europe. It also seeks to recognise quality drug prevention that is innovative and managed by young people, for young people.

Prize

Up to three projects will receive an award prize. The European Drug Prevention Prize 2021 will be awarded to up to three youth projects which will each receive a trophy and a monetary benefit of 5,000.

The Council of Europe designates the follows as in the definition of drugs: illegal drugs; alcohol; tobacco; volatile substances (glues, gases, aerosols, etc.); new psychoactive substances (NPS, including so-called legal highs); and prescription and over-the-counter medicines when they are misused.
