IRC offers a job opportunity in Jordan to work as a supply chain officer. The supply chain officer is responsible of supporting the supply chain team and ensuring that all procurement are done on a timely basis without compromising known IRC standards as well as following up on certain procurement remotely in different sites as needed, and will work closely with all sectors to ensure that planned activities are implemented.

Eligibility:

You must have:

  • Knowledge of generic procurement procedures and practices (IRC or NGO experience).
  • Demonstrated success as a procurement leader within supply chain including planning, procurement and logistics.
  • Good collaborator and influencer with effective interpersonal and analytical skills who is able to work seamlessly across cultures, organizational units and suppliers.
  • Knowledge and experience in procurement plans, strategies, market analysis techniques, procurement and contracting.
  • Good analytical and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent skills in conducting market analysis and sourcing strategies.
  • Ability to work effectively in a highly matrixed structure.
  • Good mathematical skills.
  • University degree in business management, logistics, supply chain, procurement or any other related field.
  • Minimum of 2-3 year professional experience in procurement preferably with an INGO.
  • Working experience on USAID, ECHO, UN and other donor funded projects will be an added advantage.
  • Possession of a Valid Jordanian driving license is an added advantage.
  • Very good command in Arabic and English in both writing and speaking skills.

Your Responsibilities:

You will be responsible of:

  1. Respond to procurement requests from program staff related to supplies, materials and other terms for project beneficiaries and activities.
  2. Ensure that procurement is carried out in accordance with IRC and donor-specific policies and procedures.
  3. Analyzing procurement requirement and select the most appropriate methods based on the established policies.
  4. Ensure that all materials purchased are of appropriate quality and price and are timely delivered.
  5. Generate all required procurement documentation and maintain records and files in an impeccable manner.
  6. Support in the preparation and execution of contracts for recommended bidders and contracts renewal process.
  7. Implementing due diligence for suppliers, this includes conducting ATC checks, reference checks, supplier visits etc.
  8. Support in drafting RFPs and tender meetings & evaluations.
  9. Support in implementing procurement plans.
  10. Prepare payment requests and collect all needed documents to facilitate payment submission, and coordinate with finance department to make sure the payments are delivered to the suppliers.
  11. Assist program staff with raising purchase requests (PRs) and provide price estimations of goods requested when possible.
  12. Conducting regular market survey for commonly purchased goods and services.
  13. Coordinate transportation of procured items to other IRC locations.
  14. Collect needed documentation from different departments and site and lease efficiently.
  15. Update relevant staff about the status of your request and delivery and maintain regular contact with supervisor on matters of procurement.
  16. Assist in updating the Purchase Request Tracking Sheet (PRTS) and other procurement tracking sheets regularly.
  17. Keep good track of suppliers performance and maintain a database of good and reliable suppliers for different categories of supplies, service and goods.
  18. Maintain an accurate and organized filing system for both hard and soft copies.
  19. Be an integral part of the procurement team and support all members under the supervision of direct manager.
  20. Perform other duties as required by the senior supply chain officer and the procurement manager.
