Who can apply ?

For the scholarship holders with a nationality from Maghreb and Egypt

Only the student at UNDERGRADUATE level from Group 1 or 3 can apply for a mobility at UNDERGRADUATE LEVEL.

If you are Algerian, Moroccan, Tunisian or Egyptian registered in a PARTNER university in Maghreb or in Egypt at Undergraduate Level 1st or 2d year, you can apply for a mobility at Undergraduate level 2d or 3d year.

If you are Algerian, Moroccan, Tunisian or Egyptian registered at Master, Doctorate, Post-doctorate, Staff level, YOU CAN'T APPLY.

General information:

You can obtain an EMMAG scholarship, if you are :

  • Undergraduate- If you are Algerian, Moroccan, Tunisian or Egyptian registered in a PARTNER university in Maghreb or in Egypt OR from GROUP 3 OR if you have an European nationality registered in a European PARTNER university
  • Master- if you have an European nationality registered in a European PARTNER university ONLY
  • Doctorate- if you have an European nationality registered in a European PARTNER university ONLY
  • Post-doctorate- if you have an European nationality registered in a European PARTNER university ONLY
  • Academic or administrative staff- if you have an European nationality registered in a European PARTNER university ONLY

The partner-universities of the EMMAG consortium define a selection procedure based on :

  • Academic excellence
  • The candidate’s motivation and the quality of her/his project
  • Her/his linguistic skills
  • The candidate’s commitment to return to her/his home university after her/his mobility period
  • Respect of gender equality and balance in regards of geographic distribution
  • The vulnerability level and the social-economical status of the candidate

There are three different groups of candidates. Please check if you belong to Group 1, Group 2 or Group 3, according to your nationality, your academic, professional or socio-economic situation.

Beneficiaries Types of mobility
Group 1 Students or staff who are registered in one of the universities that is a member of the partnership. Undergraduate, master, doctorate, post-doctorate or staff
Group 2 Nationals of Algeria, Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia or from the European Union who are registered at the time of the application in a university of one of these countries that is not a partner of the program. Master, doctorate, post-doctorate
Group 3 Nationals of Algeria, Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia, who are in particularly vulnerable situations, for social and political reasons, e.g.: having a refugee status or asylum beneficiaries; Undergraduate

Students

  • Students from Maghreb and Egypt

    The eligibility criteria for students at an undergraduate, master, doctorate or post-doc level are as follows :

    Only the student at UNDERGRADUATE level can apply for the third call for applications open from November 17th 2014 to February 15th 2015:

    • The students must be nationals of Algeria, Egypt, Morocco and Tunisia.
    • They must be registered at a partner or associated university or at a university in Algeria, Egypt, Morocco or Tunisia at the time of submitting their application.
    • They must have not resided nor have carried out their main activity (studies, work, etc) for more than a total of 12 months over the last five years in any of the eligible European countries at the time of submitting their application.
    • They must meet the language requirements of the host university.
  • European students

    Only the candidates from the TARGET 1 can apply

    The eligibility criteria for European students at an undergraduate, master, doctorate or post-doctorate level are as follows :

    • They must be nationals of one of the countries of the European Union.
    • They need to be registered at one of the European partner or associate partner universities or at a university in Czech Republic, France, Greece, Italy or Spain.
    • They must meet the language requirements of the host university.

Academic and administrative staff

The eligibility criteria for academic and administrative staff are as follows :

  • They must be a national of one of the 27 member states of the European Union or of Algeria, Egypt, Morocco or Tunisia.
  • They must work in or be associated to one of the partner universities.
  • In addition :
  • The home and host universities and the individual staff must agree on the programme of lectures to be delivered by the visiting staff, on the research activities or on the type of training to be followed during the mobility.
