The World Food Programme (WFP) is seeking to hire a Business Support Assistant to join the team and work in Cairo, Egyptfor 2020. 

Key accountabilities (not all-inclusive):

  1. Respond to routine queries received and escalate where appropriate to relevant units, to provide a timely and accurate service to clients including beneficiaries, retailers and teachers, through answering calls, responding to requests or resolving complaints following the developed guidelines.
  2. Follow-up on escalated problems with relevant colleagues, units, and call beneficiaries back with the recommended solutions.
  3. Research required information for beneficiaries using available online and offline resources as necessary.
  4. Provide a set of standard business support activities, where required, to contribute to the effective functioning of business operations, including but not limited to supporting events, etc., to support staff to work effectively.
  5. Support the maintenance of office files, documents, and records in accordance with established systems and processes so that information is current and readily available for staff.
  6. Undertake standard data entry tasks in accordance with defined systems, to ensure information is organized and readily available for the business team.

Qualifications:

  1. Education: Completion of secondary school education. A university degree in a related field will be an advantage.
  2. Experience: Two or more years of experience in general administrative work, experience in developing and managing customer service systems, call centers or hot lines and working with refugees and migrants.
  3. Language: Fluency (level C) in both oral and written communication in Arabic language. Fluency (level C) or intermediate knowledge (level B) of English language.
  4. Ability to use standard office equipment such as photocopiers and scanners.
  5. Knowledge of standardized business support work routines and methods.
  6. Knowledge of standard office software packages, e.g. Microsoft word, Excel, …
  7. Uses tact and courtesy to give and receive information with a variety of individuals.
  8. Good attention to detail in order to identify data discrepancies.
  9. Ability to work to deadlines and follow clear instructions.
