UN Volunteers platform is offering an online volunteer opportunity, as The UNDP regional hub is looking for two (02) creative and motivated online volunteers to support with creating designs and artwork used for a new joint project with UNISS in Sahel.

The Sahel region of Africa is a land of opportunities and challenges. The United Nations Development System underscores the importance of the over 150 million youth who are under the age of 25 years and highlights the need to tap into the potential of the demographic dividend through this youth empowerment programme for the Sahel (YERPS). The overall strategic vision for the programme is to ensure an effective youth engagement in the Sahel through more inclusive stabilization and recovery processes as well as long term socio-political stability in the Sahel. Conflict, political instability, state fragility and divisive politics have eroded youth capacity and potential to be agent of change and transformation at different levels and left significant groups of young people marginalized and feeling excluded from political, social and economic trajectory of the Sahel region. YERPS, as an integrated and comprehensive programme, aims at fostering youth empowerment through a sustained and meaningful civic engagement, participation in decision making and political processes, to strengthen young people resilience so that they can contribute to the greening of the Sahel region.
