Description

Ronald Kitchen circa 1965, University of Queensland Archives

The RD Kitchen Scholarship supports HDR students in the School of Music who intend to present research projects at research conferences or equivalent forums for the presentation of creative work

Ronald Douglas Kitchen (born 1920) was a lecturer in educational psychology in the Department of External Studies at the University of Queensland from 1966 until his retirement in 1985. To mark the 75th anniversary of the Department in 1985, he published the monograph Men of Vision: A University Challenge to Distance Education, which traced the history of external studies at UQ by focussing on the four men who served as Directors of External Studies from 1911 to 1971.

The scholarship was established in 2007 and is maintained by an annual gift from the Ronald Douglas Kitchen Perpetual Endowment Fund.
