Job Summary/Purpose: |
The Medical Assisting Program seeks a qualified individual to serve as MA Program Lab Assistant. Lab Assistants will assist the MA course director in the education and evaluation of student performance in the lab experience. Terms of Employment: |
Essential Functions: | 1. Assist with instruction in the MA course lab under the direction of the MA course director/faculty member. |

Physical Demands and Other Ergonomic Requirements: | Working hours are regular, per the established work schedule. Work is performed in an ordinary lab, mostly standing. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is required to function effectively indoors in an office environment engaged in work of primarily a sedentary nature with the ability to sit or stand at for extended periods. The employee is regularly required to sit, stand, use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms and requires near visual acuity to write, read written materials and computer screens, and sufficient hearing and speech ability for ordinary telephonic conversations. Able to complete the essential job functions listed above with or without reasonable accommodation. Work is typically performed standing. Must be able to safely lift 50 pounds. |

Minimum Qualifications: | 1. Education: Medical Assisting certificate/degree or higher from an accredited institution of higher learning that includes course work equivalent to the uniform certificate degree in Medical Assisting as approved by the Oregon State Board of Education and offered by Oregon’s community colleges. |
