Job Summary: Under the direction of a senior faculty member who serves as a mentor for the postdoctoral appointee, The Postdoctoral Fellow provides for an internship and continuation of scholarly activity and research after achieving the Ph.D. or other doctoral degree.


Additional Department Summary: The Department of Mathematics at the University of Alabama seeks applications for a postdoctoral position. This position is renewable annually for up to three years. The teaching load is 3 courses, 9 credit hours, per year (a 2/1 load). Candidates are expected to provide effective teaching and carry out research in collaboration with members of the analysis group. We are seeking candidates with expertise in harmonic analysis and PDEs whose research interests mesh closely with the members of the analysis group. 


Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. in Mathematics or a closely related field, and demonstrate the potential for research excellence in harmonic analysis, partial differential equations and related areas. A successful candidate will be expected to have sufficient experience to teach across the undergraduate curriculum. The position is renewable annually for up to three years, contingent upon continued satisfactory research and teaching.
