A Research Associate position is available for a synthetic chemist to investigate the use of biocatalysts for the development of biocatalytic synthetic methodologies with particular application towards the synthesis of new modality drug targets, funding for this project is provided by an EPSRC Prosperity Partnership award, co-funded by the BBSRC and AstraZeneca.
You should have a PhD or equivalent in Chemistry with a proven track record in areas such as synthetic organic chemistry, and ideally experience in biocatalyst optimisation via directed evolution/protein engineering. You should be capable of working under your own initiative but also collaborating with research partners both in Manchester and at partner institutions so excellent communication and organisational skills are also required.
