Description

Established in 2016 and maintained by an annual donation of $2000 from Rowe Scientific Pty Ltd, the purpose of the scholarship is to encourage domestic students to undertake a research degree at UQ who would not otherwise do so.


Eligibility

The applicant must:

  • be an Australian citizen, New Zealand citizen or Australian permanent resident;
  • be a student enrolled for an honours or research higher degree in chemistry;
  • fall into one of three categories:
  • have a rural background (the selection panel may be guided by the Health Workforce Locator classifications e.g. Modified Monash Model );
  • have some form of socio-economic disadvantage (the selection panel may be guided by the definition of financial hardship in the QTAC Educational Access Scheme );
  • undertaking study at UQ would represent a significant change in location (i.e. they do not reside in or around Brisbane, or have not undertaken their undergraduate studies at UQ.)

    Selection criteria

    Selection of the recipient will be made by the Head, School of Chemistry and Molecular Biosciences.
