Applications for Trimester 1 2021 close 25 January 2021 at 5pm.


Cash payment up to $5000 per year for two years.

Total value of this scholarship is $10,000.

Prospective candidates should ensure they meet all criteria before submitting their application.

To be eligible you must:

  • be a domestic student
  • be enrolled full-time in Trimester 1 2021 in the third year of one of the following bachelor degrees:
    • Bachelor of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (Honours)
    • Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering (Honours)
    • Bachelor of Mechatronics Engineering (Honours)
  • have a minimum Weighted Average Mark (WAM) of 75
  • be able to demonstrate involvement in extracurricular activities and have a demonstrated passion and commitment to developing a career in Mechatronics Engineering.

Preference will be given to a student enrolled in the Bachelor of Mechatronics Engineering (Honours)

Shortlisted applicants will be invited to attend an interview as part of the selection process.

    As a scholarship recipient you must:

  • provide an introductory statement about your goals for study and what it means to receive the scholarship
  • maintain a minimum Weighted Average Mark (WAM) of 75* for the duration of the scholarship
  • be prepared to attend an interview as part of the application, if shortlisted
  • cannot defer the scholarship or concurrently hold another similar scholarship
  • provide a yearly impact statement for the duration of their scholarship.

*Failure to meet the minimum WAM or agreed full time study load may result in the scholarship being revoked.

Supporting documents

As part of the application process, you will also be required to upload current supporting documentation .

When you apply for this scholarship, you'll need to supply evidence of your extracurricular activities (if applicable).

Make sure you choose the correct document type when you upload your documents as it will make a difference. If your documents are uploaded into the incorrect type they will not be considered when assessing your application. Remember it is quality, not quantity, which you need to provide. Aim to provide documents which are current, relevant and concise.

Your application will be assessed and ranked based on the details you provide and your supporting documentation. Shortlisted applicants will be invited to attend an interview as part of the selection process.

You'll find out if you were successful usually within six weeks of the final application closing date. You can view the status of your application via your Scholarship Application Portal account.

There may be an opportunity for the successful candidate to be invited to undertake a 12 week paid work placement at SEW-EURODRIVE’s office located in Tullamarine, VIC.This normally takes place between November and March at the end of the third year of your degree. This opportunity will be discussed with you at a later stage and is separate to this scholarship opportunity.

SEW-EURODRIVE is a global designer, developer and supplier of industrial mechanical transmission systems, electric motors and motor control electronic systems. SEW-EURODRIVE manufactures and distributes geared motors and gear units, high torque industrial gear units, high-efficiency motors, electronic frequency inverters and servo drive systems, decentralised drive systems and offer plus engineered solutions and after-sales technical support/training.
