Decision makers
First year GPA from semester 1 and 2 will be used to identify and shortlist potential candidates. Those shortlisted will attend an interview with RINA(NZ) and Babcock with Marine Industrial Design, who will consider GPA, Project work and interview findings in making the selection.
How and when do students learn of the decision?
The award recipient will be announced in December of each year. The recipient will attend a RINA (NZ) presentation of their award. The decision of the scholarship selection panel is final. If the panel is of the opinion that there is no applicant of sufficient merit, the scholarship will not be awarded.
What conditions are attached to acceptance of this award?
Annual renewal of the scholarship is conditional on the student passing all papers in each year of study.
Additional information
The successful student (recipient) will also be offered a summer internship at Babcock/MID under a separate employment contract. Note: There is no commitment or requirement on completion of the course to undertake to work for any of the industry sponsors and the recipient is encouraged to explore all opportunities that may be available to them.
