Postdoctoral Research at the Institute of Sustainable Processes (ISP) of the University of Valladolid (UIC 071) within the framework of the Regional Research Project of CASTILLA Y LEÓN, co-financed by the European Social Fund (FEDER) “Monitoring of the new SARS-CoV-2 virus in wastewater treatment plants of the community of Castilla y León and development of an online platform for early warning of infection based on domestic sewage data (VA266P20)"
Research work: The researcher will develop and optimise advanced molecular biology techniques (functional analysis by real-time PCR, massive sequencing, proteomics, bioinformatics ...) and proteotyping coupled to mass spectrometry to detect and quantify SARS-CoV2 and Influenza viruses in sewage and sludge samples and monitoring their evolution and removal using different wastewater treatment processes.
The researcher will also collaborate in the development of an online tool for epidemiological monitoring of SARS-CoV-2 and Influenza viruses based on wastewater data.
