We invite applications for two full-time postdoctoral fellow positions in Biostatistics & Machine Learning with applications to genomics. Successful candidates will join a research group led by Drs. Qingrun Zhang, Jingjing Wu, Matthew Greenberg and Quan Long, in the Biostatistics Program (Department of Mathematics and Statistics) and enjoy opportunities to collaborate with bioinformaticians, biologists and clinicians in multiple faculties at the University of Calgary. Our diverse group has expertise in statistics, mathematics, computer science, and biology and shares a common interest in developing biostatistical and machine learning methods for high-dimensional data analysis (e.g., single-cell genomic) with an eye to real-world applications in biology and medicine. The positions are supported by the supervisors' research grants and departmental teaching duties (2 courses per academic year). Each successful candidate will work with two of the four prospective supervisors but with the opportunity to communicate with the whole group.

Qualified applicants should have a PhD (or equivalent) in biostatistics, statistics, mathematics, physics, computer science, bioinformatics, or a related discipline within the past five years, possess strong programming skills, and demonstrate enthusiasm for applying quantitative methods to biological and medical problems. The research topics in the group could be flexible, subject to the mutual interests of the candidates and the supervisors.

Calgary, Canada's fastest growing major city, offers a vibrant, multicultural and family-oriented environment with a population of more than one million. Situated near the Rocky Mountains, Banff National Park and Lake Louise, Calgary has great quality of life and outstanding recreational activities.

Interested candidates should submit a curriculum vitae, a summary of research interests, contact information for three referees, transcripts, and (optional) up to three representative publications via MathJobs.org. Informal enquiries may be sent directly to the supervisors by email (qingrun.zhang at ucalgary.cajinwu at ucalgary.camgreenbe at ucalgary.caquan.long at ucalgary.ca ).
