Job description:
High fidelity quantum state transfer between photons and scalable spin qubits is desirable for flexible quantum networks. Cluster quantum computing and quantum communication are examples of such networks. In an effort to realize spin-photon quantum state transfer, we are seeking to recruit a postdoctoral research scientist to develop optical interface devices for electrically-controlled singlet-triplet qubits. A singlet-triplet qubit can be defined in a double quantum dot that has been generated in a two-dimensional electron system in a GaAs/AlGaAs heterostructure using electrostatic gates. Research in scaling such qubits into multi-qubit processors is currently under way. Quantum state transfer from photon to spin is to be mediated by excitons localized on self-assembled quantum dots. Various algorithms for quantum state transfer from excitons to electrons in singlet-triplet qubits are being considered. This project is a collaboration between the Quantum Technologies Group in RWTH Aachen University and the Semiconductor Nanoelectronics in the Peter-Grünberg Institute in Forschungszentrum Jülich. It is part of a larger effort within the framework of the quantum computing program in Forschungszentrum Jülich and the Cluster of Excellence ML4Q.
