The University of Copenhagen (UCPH) is seeking a postdoctoral researcher to investigate teaching through the lockdown period and support a knowledge-based discussion of how the University of Copenhagen integrates educational technology in a post-Corona situation. The position is part of a University wide strategic initiative that aims at supporting the implementation of relevant digital disciplinary knowledge in the university’s educational programs. The initiative includes three main tracks: i) digital literacy and basic digital competences, ii) digitalisation of the core curriculum, and iii) digital education and digitally supported didactics.

The position is related to track three and focus on data-driven evaluation and investigation of capacity building in relation to digital education. The candidate is expected to be a driving force in the ongoing evaluation and capacity building work that has been initiated as a consequence of the COVID 19 lockdown. 

The postdoc’s duties will include research and project management within online learning, evaluation and capacity building as well as communication on these areas both within the university and to a larger public. The post may also include performance of other duties, including teaching and supervisions of students.

The evaluation work is conducted by a transdisciplinary group under the leadership of professor Morten Misfeldt and key elements of the work consists of: 

1. data collection and analysis at the university. This includes both qualitative and quantitative data.

2. review the international literature and relate it to the situation at the University of Copenhagen and recent international experiences in relation to the lock down.

3. Support policy development in relation to the use of online teaching modalities and educational technology at the university.

4. Contribute to developing teaching practices in a post-corona situation at UCPH.

The candidate offered the position will have to be able to read, write and communicate in Danish.

The position are affiliated with the Center for Digital Education which is a joint effort between Department of Science Education and Department of Computer Science at the Faculty of Science, which aims at connecting experts from science education and computer science to explore the possibilities and consequences of the digitalization disciplinary work in the educational system.

The position is funded by a joint UCPH-project.

Terms of employment

The position is covered by the Memorandum on Job Structure for Academic Staff.

Terms of appointment and payment accord to the agreement between the Ministry of Finance and The Danish Confederation of Professional Associations on Academics in the State.

The starting salary is currently up to DKK 437.843 including annual supplement (+ pension up to DKK 74.871). Negotiation for salary supplement is possible.
