Your Role

The Department of Mathematics invites applications for a PhD position in mathematical statistics.

This position is supported by the ERC Consolidator Grant entitled “Statistical Methods for High Dimensional Diffusions”. The relevant themes include inference for stochastic processes, high dimensional statistics, minimax theory, concentration inequalities and random matrix theory.

The department offers an outstanding and dynamic environment for PhD candidates, with multiple seminars, working groups, colloquia, and a doctoral school which also includes access to multiple training opportunities, including some not only focused on mathematics. In addition, our modern campus provides excellent facilities, creating an invigorating research environment.

Your Profile


  • Master's Degree (or equivalent) in mathematics or related disciplines

  • Good command of written and spoken English

  • Strong dedication to doing mathematics at a research level
