The Department of Physics and Astronomy, Aarhus University, invites applications for a 32-months postdoc position offering applicants an opportunity to join a research project on the fluorescence from isolated molecular ions in vacuo.

The position is for 32 months and is available from 1 May 2021.

Job description/research project/research area
You are expected to contribute to the fluorescence experiments at the LUNA/2 setups where isolated molecular ions are studied. In particular, we want to further develop our low-temperature fluorescence experiments and unravel microenvironmental effects on the photophysics of fluorophores.

Your profile
Applicants should hold a PhD in Physics. Experience with electrospray ionization, mass spectrometry, pulsed lasers, fluorescence, and the construction of new apparatus is required as well as programming in LabView, Matlab, and Python. Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team are expected.
