The postdoctoral fellow will work on topics in gravitational aspects of string theory, holography, black hole physics, and their intersection. They will be expected to participate in local seminars and present their scientific results at international conferences and workshops.

The postdoctoral fellow will join the String Theory group at CPHT. Their research will contribute to the ERC Starting Grant Project 'HoloHair' led by CNRS researcher Andrea Puhm at École polytechnique's Center of Theoretical Physics which aims at elucidating how information is encoded in quantum gravity and in black holes and whether asymptotically flat spacetime admits an underlying holographic structure.

The postition is financed by the Starting grant 'Information Encoding in Quantum Gravity and the Black Hole Information Paradox' from the European Research Council (ERC) and benefits from a research and travel budget. The research will be carried out at the CPHT, a mixed research unit of the National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS) and Ecole polytechnique. At the CNRS, the CPHT is attached to the Institut de physique. The Paris area is home to many other theoretical institutes at the forefront of research in theoretical high energy physics from which the postdoctoral fellow will benefit. They will also be exposed to a diverse network of international collaborations.
