Our department

The Law School has an international reputation with world-leading research ongoing across a number of areas, around a broad theme of justice.  It is rated joint first in Scotland for research intensity (ref 2014) and its Centre for Internet Law and Policy has been re-energised by recent appointments.

We seek an appointment in Fintech (broadly conceived, covering, for example Technology Law, Cybercrime, Intellectual Property, Algorithmic trading/Automated pricing including Consumer Protection or Finance Law).  This colleague will support prioritising activities in these areas, with increased capacity to connect and participate and interdisciplinary endeavours and to attract funding and studentships.

The post is an exciting opportunity and will be aligned to Strathclyde’s impressive plans in relation to Financial Technologies generally. Fintech constitutes one of the six research clusters at the heart of its strategic expansion of its “TIC Zone” (see: https://www.strath.ac.uk/workwithus/glasgowcityinnovationdistrict/technologyinnovationcentrezone/).  This area is vibrant, presenting many opportunities which a GTAP would assist in realising.

The opportunity

We would love to hear from you if you have an internationally recognised research portfolio in this area, are publishing in leading international journals, are actively pursuing funding whilst building impactful collaborative links with industrial and business partners and if you have a passion for progressing teaching and learning.  In keeping with our commitment to equality and diversity, we encourage applications from all sections of the community, particularly those who can support our Athena SWAN activity, which inspires the advancement and representation of women in higher education.  For more information on diversity and inclusion at Strathclyde, please see here.
