The Department of Information Systems and Technology is situated at Campus Sundsvall. Its activities include research in the field of Computer and System science, mainly in the fields of the subjects Computer engineering and Industrial organization and economy.
Job description: You will work in the area of artificial intelligence and machine learning for resource constrained distributed systems, focusing on industrial applications. You are expected to:
Qualification required: For this position, it is required to have a PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related subject. The PhD and later research should have been focused on machine learning, artificial intelligence, or similar, and be well documented by publications in top-ranked technical journals. Furthermore, the eligibility requirements and criteria described in Appointment procedure for teachers at Mid Sweden University and established Instructions for the appointment of senior lecturers at the Department of Science, Technology and Media, general qualification.
Knowledge in some of the areas wireless networks, mathematical statistics, optimization, security or image recognition is considered a merit. Your qualifications are expected to meet, or almost meet, those required for promotion to associate professor. During the evaluation, special attention is given to the quality and amount of publications. Pedagogical education is a requirement and pedagogical experience from teaching and supervision as well as educational responsibilities, e.g. course and program management, are merits.
You will have to communicate in several contexts. The research is conducted in an international environment and good command of English, both orally and in writing, is therefore required. The on advanced level is also typically performed in English, but on under graduate level it is often conducted in Swedish. The ability to communicate in Swedish is therefore considered a merit. Post-doctoral or equivalent stays at an institution other than the one where the PhD was awarded are considered as merits. Additionally, you are expected to show a great commitment, together with good leadership abilities and cooperation skills.
Procedure: The recruitment process follows the regulations of the Higher Education Ordinance, Chapter 4, and the employment procedures applicable to Mid Sweden University.
Terms of employment: Full-time with start September 1st 2021, or according to agreement.
Placement: Sundsvall.
Salary: Salary is determined on an individual basis.
