We have an opening for the position of full time

LECTURER

at our Kotka campus starting on 1.4.2021 and continuing until further notice. 

In Autumn 2021 a new Bachelor Degree Programme in Mechanicel Engineering is starting at Xamk. The Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Programme is focusing on educating new experts to the digitizable manufacturing industry. A new robotics virtual laboratory learning environment for training needs is developed, too. We are looking for an expert who has practical knowledge in industrial robotics, e.g. designing and/or implementing tasks and programming skills are also an advantage. Combined with strong work experience, a. M.Sc. degree in Automation Engineering or Mechanical Engineering (Mechatronics) offers the best competence of succeeding in the task.

The tasks include teaching in Kotka Campus and Kouvola Campus, the development and maintenance of virtual laboratory learning environments (digital twins) and other development tasks. We appreciate strong practical experience and appropriate background education. In addition of Finnish language skills, proficiency in English is considered an advantage.

Pursuant to the Government decree on universities of applied sciences, the candidate must possess a master’s degree and have a minimum of 3 years of practical work experience in the subject field. In addition, we also require that the candidate has either completed a teaching qualification, or will complete it within 3 years of taking up the post.

Pay and other employment contract terms are determined in accordance with the Collective Agreement for the Private Education Sector issued by the Finnish Education Employers. Final appointment to the position is subject to the successful completion of a probationary period.
