The Faculty of Science and The Leiden Institute of Physics (LION) is looking for a

Postdoc, Optical Near-field Electron Microscopy

Key responsibilities
Richard Feynman once asked for better microscopes to watch biology at work. In an EU-funded collaboration, we are taking up this challenge. We will establish a new microscopy technique at the interface of light and electron optics, for damage-free dynamic measurements. The system will be built within the state-of-the-art low-energy electron microscope in Leiden.

We offer a 2-year postdoc position with excellent facilities and well-equipped laboratories available. You will be part of an enthusiastic local research team and will collaborate internationally with colleagues in Vienna and Prague.

We are located at the heart of Leiden’s Bio Science Park, one of Europe’s biggest science parks, where university and business life come together.

Terms and conditions
We offer a full-time position for 2 years. Salary range from € 3.353,- to € 4.402,- gross per month (pay scale 10 in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities).

Leiden University offers an attractive benefits package with additional holiday (8%) and end-of-year bonuses(8.3 %), training and career development and sabbatical leave.
