The Interdisciplinary Center for Security, Reliability and Trust (SnT) at the University of Luxembourg is seeking outstanding candidates starting at the level of Associate Professor or Full Professor in Business Economics and Entrepreneurship. As a Faculty member, the successful candidate will create, grow, and lead an internationally recognized research team at the university. The candidate will take a leading role in developing the university’s Interdisciplinary Space Masters (ISM) through curriculum development, project based instruction, and student mentoring. We seek an internationally recognized candidate with an established record of accomplishment in research, teaching, and knowledge transfer. Depending on the qualifications of the candidate, a tenured position at the rank of Associate or Full Professor will be considered.

Launched in 2009 by the University of Luxembourg, SnT has grown to some 300 people conducting research and innovation in information and communication technology. In a short period of time, the centre has recruited top scientists (three ERC advanced grants), attracted strong support from strategic industrial partnerships (50+ partners with >€5 million in annual funding), and secured over €140 million in competitive funding including over a dozen ongoing projects in H2020. SnT builds long-term strategic partnerships with private and public actors -- this collaborative research model is a highly effective mechanism for direct impact on economic actors and activities in Luxembourg.

Launched in 2019, the ISM is a new Masters Degree program developed in partnership with the Luxembourg Space Agency. Characterised by its hands-on, project-based approach, it offers students an interdisciplinary education in the technical and business aspects of space missions, preparing them to enter the growing commercial space sector and launch their own venture. The Master encompasses state-of-the-art space research carried out at SnT by five research groups, which focus on satellite communications, automation, robotics, remote sensing and computer vision, with partners such as the FNR, ESA, NASA, Airbus and SES.

We’re looking for people driven by excellence, excited about innovation, and looking to make a difference. If this sounds like you, you’ve come to the right place!

The selected candidate will be an experienced scholar working at the intersection of business economics, entrepreneurship and innovation. The candidate will have experience from space activities or have the potential to develop a research profile targeting the space sector.  The successful candidate will conduct research, education and knowledge transfer in the area of their expertise. The candidate will lead and develop a research group at SnT.

SnT conducts research in close collaboration with the industry partners and is engaged in a number of European and International projects. The candidate will define strategy, recruit personnel, acquire funding from diverse sources, and establish co-operations with other research groups and international/industrial/public partners.

The mission is to:

This will require contributing to research, education, innovations, technology transfer, and management activities at SnT. English is the working language of this international laboratory.
