Aalto University School of Business invites applications for

TENURE TRACK ASSISTANT PROFESSOR IN BUSINESS LAW, SPECIALIZING IN TAX LAW

beginning in August 2021.

The position is located in the Department of Accounting & Business Law. Business Law is a discipline based on research in Law, Business Economy and Economics, interacting with society and business. The unit has its own Master’s program. It is also possible to specialize in Business Law in the school’s Bachelor’s degree program. Business Law has two professorships in Private Law and one in Tax Law and one university lecturer in Private Law. This open position will be filled into the field of Tax Law focusing on Business Taxation and International Taxation. We value strong knowledge of Tax law. In Business Law teaching is conducted both in Finnish and English.

Those in the academic tenure track system are expected to exercise and guide scientific research, to provide high-quality academic education, to follow the advances of their field, to participate in service to the Aalto University community, and to take part in societal interaction and international collaboration in their field.

Requirements

The applicants should hold a doctorate in a discipline relevant to this position. You have the potential to publish in top journals and to develop into an excellent teacher in our programs. In addition, we expect readiness to apply for external research funding. The applicants will be reviewed on the basis of their research, teaching and activity in the scientific community. In the absence of formal proof of quality in research and teaching (e.g. published papers, teaching ratings), applicants are encouraged to submit proof of significant potential for high-quality teaching and research. Sufficient knowledge of both Finnish and English language is a prerequisite for the position.

Salary and working time

Aalto University follows the salary system of Finnish universities, but applicants may also provide salary requests. Research faculty belongs to the total working hours system, and they work for 1612 hours annually. Aalto University provides occupational health care and retirement benefits.

The starting date for the position is negotiable, but being able to start in August 2021 at the latest is considered an advantage. The job is located at the Aalto University campus in Otaniemi, Espoo.
