We are seeking applications to work at the flow cytometry division of the Cell Imaging and Cytometry Core https://bioscience.fi/services/cell-imaging/services/ in Finland.

This is a multi-user facility that provides flow cytometry and mass cytometry services to the academic and industrial research community and supports the InFLAMES Flagship which aims at being an international top-level research and development cluster in the field of immunology. https://inflames.utu.fi/

The successful candidate will join a team that provides cytometry services to a large multi-user customer base. He or she will contribute towards the continuous development of these services to maintain the latest technologies and protocols that support excellent science, while expanding our customer and applications base. https://bioscience.fi/

 About the research environment

Turku Bioscience Centre is an advanced core facility and research centre hosted jointly by the University of Turku and Åbo Akademi University in Finland. We offer access to a comprehensive selection of cutting-edge research methods and an opportunity to be involved in internationally competitive science in a stimulating, highly networked environment. We are a truly international community, with more than half of the personnel having an international background. Accordingly, the work language is English and proficiency in English is a requirement.

Salary

The salary is determined by the collective agreement system of Finnish universities. The Project Researcher will belong to UTU research personnel and the Project Engineer to the UTU other staff. The salary is on average 2200 -2570 eur/month. The final salary will be defined based on the applicant education, competence and work experience. Salaried positions in Finland automatically include payments to a pension fund, unemployment funds, a good occupational healthcare and even a holiday allowance.

Duration of the contract

The start of employment is negotiable. The position is fixed-term until end of 2024, with a possibility for extension. The position is subject to a six-month trial period.
