Presentation of the scientific field

The Department of Network Systems, Cybersecurity and Digital Law (SRCD https://www.imt-atlantique.fr/en/school/departments/network-systems-cyber-security-and-digital-law), based on the Rennes campus of IMT Atlantique, is recruiting an associate professor, specialized in the fields of virtualized networking for its ADOPNET team (https://www-adopnet.irisa.fr/). SRCD has a staff of about 90 people, including 26 permanent lecturer-researchers.

You will carry out your research on the security of networks and/or distributed systems, within the UMR 6074 IRISA, in the department D2 "Networks, Telecommunications and Services". In particular, you will be part of the research team ADOPNET (Advanced Technologies for Operated Networks), which contributes to the specification of architectures, protocols and control mechanisms for the next generation networks. Its goal is to build networks that are flexible, adaptive, energy-efficient and able to deliver content on a large scale to various types of terminals. ADOPNET, in particular, addresses the convergence of access networks and adaptive software-based networks.

You will contribute to the teaching in our various programs, including the engineering program in the "TAF Digital Platforms: Technologies and Markets" as well as the Master of Science "Information Technologies". An affinity for continuing education would be appreciated.

You will contribute to the school's actions in favor of socio-economic and international development in its various forms.

In this context, to join our teams:

You have strong skills in the following fields:

- architecture and protocols for fixed and mobile networks

- network function virtualisation

- one domain (or more) of operational research (stochastic processes, graph theory, linear optimisation, etc.)

Skills in data analysis (Data collection, Data analysis, Machine Learning, Deep Learning) are a plus.

In the department, as an Associate Professor, you will fulfil the main roles of training, research and development in academic and industrial circles, as well as internationally.

Your scientific skills and your experience in funded project will enable you to develop and participate in partnerships with partners from the economic and academic world, at regional, national and international levels.

You will contribute to the development and influence of the school through high-level publications, a proactive attitude to contract negotiation and an active contribution to the life of the school.

Your significant experience in designing and supervising teaching activities will allow you to promote learning by confronting learners with multidisciplinary problems. You are particularly interested in the competency-based approach, innovative teaching methods and the diversification of assessment methods.

Your command of English is strong enough to teach in this language. French speaking is not mandatory. However, a commitment to learning French is required.

You are really dynamic and know how to develop synergies and manage projects in training and research in a multidisciplinary environment.

Sensitive to the challenges of sustainable development and social responsibility, you act in an ethical and responsible manner and have demonstrated that these dimensions are taken into account in the projects you have carried out.

The post is based on the Rennes campus. Travel in France and abroad is to be expected.

Level of training and/or experience required:

- Doctorate in the field of Computer Science

- Highly qualified company researcher with professional experience > 8 years

- English speaking is required. French speaking is not mandatory. However, a commitment to learning French is required
