The Department of Accounting & Business Law is one of the leading departments of its domain in the Nordic countries. Its faculty is both Finnish and international, coming from a variety of backgrounds. Our research is published in top journals. We are well connected both nationally and internationally, maintaining close ties with prestigious universities as well as with the Finnish business community. Faculty members act as renowned experts, instructors and advisors in business and in the national political arena. The Department has a remarkable media visibility. In teaching, our ambition is high: To provide top-notch, state-of-the-art teaching to students – drawing from both theoretical development as well as from relevant illustrations of best business practice. The Department’s faculty actively participates in teaching at Aalto University’s Executive Education (AEE).

The Department of Accouting & Business Law is currently looking for a

Lecturer in Financial Accounting and Lecturer in Management Accounting (two permanent full-time positions).

This would be an opportunity for you to be surrounded by the talented students of the Aalto University who strive towards excellence in their careers. You would become an integral part of the dynamic research and teaching community in our department. You would be teaching mostly in our Bachelor’s Program, relying on solid competence in accounting’s substance - as well as on a mix of teaching methods both on campus and on-line, and latest pedagogical skills. You would supervise our students’ thesis work at the Bachelor’s levels with zeal, acting as their trusted tutor. Moreover, we expect you to actively contribute to the development of teaching and supervision, improving how courses are delivered and updating the curricula with contemporary concerns – as with for instance digitalization, in its multiple forms. Although your emphasis is on teaching, we also expect you to contribute to accounting research: You remain sensitive to current streams of academic enquiry, transporting some of these insights to your students. You would also have administrative tasks, acting possibly as the Director of our Bachelor’s Program.

The positions are part of the Aalto University lecturer career system and can be filled at the following levels in the lecturer career track: university teacher, university lecturer and senior university lecturer. Please see more information about the lecturer career system here: https://www.aalto.fi/en/teaching-and-learning/lecturer-career-system
