Aesthetics brings together the discipline’s philosophical tradition and contemporary critical theory. Research in the field investigates the sensory world through the study of artworks and phenomena in culture and media. We investigate how people approach aesthetic expressions to gather knowledge, to form opinions or find pleasure. Central issues in our research focus on questions of ethics and politics, bodies and consciousness, ideas and objects in relation to aesthetic practices.
