Description

The University of Oklahoma (OU) is pleased to announce a tenure-track Assistant Professor position beginning in August of 2021. This is a new faculty position due to recent growth in the numbers of program offerings and students being served by the Division of Marketing & Supply Chain Management (MSCM).

The Price College of Business is AACSB-accredited with approximately 4,700 undergraduate, 500 master’s, and 35 doctoral students.  Its undergraduate program is ranked 50th by U.S. News and World Report, and its professional and full-time MBA programs are ranked 52nd and 58th.  The Division of Marketing and Supply Chain Management is a vibrant community of scholars and teachers with a wide range of interests across the disciplines of supply chain management and marketing.

The University of Oklahoma (OU) is a Carnegie-R1 comprehensive public research university known for excellence in teaching, research, and community engagement, serving the educational, cultural, economic, and healthcare needs of the state, region, and nation from four campuses: Norman, MBA programs in nearby Oklahoma City, Health Sciences Center in Oklahoma City, and the Schusterman Center in Tulsa.  OU enrolls over 30,000 students and has nearly 3,000 full-time faculty members in 21 colleges.  Norman is a culturally rich and vibrant town located just outside of Oklahoma City. With outstanding schools, amenities, and a low cost of living, Norman is a perennial contender on the “Best Places to Live” rankings.

Qualifications

The successful candidate must hold a doctorate in Marketing (or a related discipline) or have advanced to Ph.D. candidacy and will complete the doctoral degree or equivalent degree by August 2021. All candidates will be expected to be committed to teaching, service, and research of the highest quality.

Our marketing group has historically specialized in and continues to focus on all facets of marketing research, particularly marketing channels, marketing theory, and service marketing, utilizing empirical, analytical, and conceptual techniques. To fit the missions of the MSCM Division and college, we welcome individuals with backgrounds in the areas of business-to-business marketing, business-to-consumer marketing, industrial organization, marketing strategy, digital marketing, marketing analytics, and others.

In addition to conducting high-quality research, successful candidates will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses. Primary teaching responsibilities may be in, although not limited to, digital marketing, marketing analytics, branding, and pricing.

Since the MSCM Division has both Marketing and Supply Chain Management majors, houses the Healthcare Business major, and supports the new Price College of Businesses’ Executive Master of Business Administration Program in Aerospace and Defense (EMBA in A&D), experiences in these areas, or the ability to contribute to research and teaching in these areas, are valued.
