At the Institute of Structural Design (ITE) at Technische Universität Braunschweig, a position as

is to be filled in full or part-time employment. Recruitment will take place on the next possible date, initially for a period of three years. We are looking for motivated individuals who want to conduct research and teach in the field of structural design / digital fabrication in construction under the directorship of Prof. Dr.-Ing. Harald Kloft and Jun. Prof. Dr. Norman Hack.

The main focus at the ITE is the research of innovative material/process combinations for the digital fabrication of resource-efficient, load-bearing structures. This includes the 3D concrete printing technologies developed at ITE, namely Shotcrete 3D Printing (SC3DP) and Injection 3D Concrete Printing (I3DCP) as well as Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing (WAAM) for steel components. In addition, a novel robot-assisted rammed earth process is currently being developed at ITE. With the beginning of the year 2020 the Collaborative Research Center TRR 277 "Additive Manufacturing in Construction" has commenced its work. The Technical Universities of Braunschweig and Munich have the common goal of conducting fundamental research into additive manufacturing as a digital key technology for the construction industry. Prof. Harald Kloft and Assistant Prof. Norman Hack are involved in this research network with several sub-projects for the additive manufacturing of large-sized components made of different materials. The central research facility is the so-called Digital Building Fabrication Laboratory (DBFL), a large-scale robot-based manufacturing centre for additive, subtractive and collaborative manufacturing.
