The Faculty of Theology at Friedrich Schiller University Jena invites applicants for a

Professorship W3 in New Testament

The position is tenable from summer term of 2022

The successful candidate is expected to represent the subject New Testament in its full breadth, including the ancient Greek and Jewish contexts. The post holder is expected to involve intensive collaboration within the profile line LIBERTY, especially the interdisciplinary research area "Foundations of Europe in Antiquity and the Middle Ages".

We are looking for a researcher (f/m/d) with a proven track record of relevant publications and a very good pedagogical background. The integration into existing international research cooperation is desired. Furthermore, proof of successful international publication activities, the acquisition of research funds, leadership competence, teaching experience including the supervision of students and doctoral candidates as well as the willingness to develop a broad international network are expected.

Prerequisites for application are a doctorate and habilitation or habilitation-equivalent achievements and membership in a Protestant church. Appointment is for life permanent civil service status if the necessary legal conditions are met.
