The School of Engineering (EPB, Ecole polytechnique de Bruxelles) of the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB) offers a full-time academic position in Mathematics for Engineers.
The Ecole polytechnique de Bruxelles is seeking to hire a mathematician in order to integrate the team in charge of teaching mathematics in the bachelor degree in Engineering and Architectural Engineering. The candidate will also participate to the teaching activities of the bachelor degree in Engineering taught in Charleroi (which is jointly organized with the Université de Mons). During the first year, a teaching load reduction could be considered in order to facilitate the candidate integration.
The candidate will develop his/her research activities in the field of applied mathematics. In his/her research project, he/she has to clearly show his/her ability to work in close synergy with current research activities of the Ecole polytechnique de Bruxelles. Depending on these potential collaborations, the candidate will be assigned to the most appropriate department.
Main Research Field : Mathematics. The scientific record of the candidate must be excellent.
Sub Research Field : Applied Mathematics
Required educational level: Phd Degree in Mathematics or Engineering (preferentially in applied mathematics)
Required Languages :
Français : Excellent (at least C1)
English : Good (at least B2)

The appointment to the academic staff of ULB is made at “Premier Assistant” level, if the candidate obtained his PhD for less than eight years (on 1 October of the year of appointment). If the candidate obtained a PhD for eight or more years, on 1 October of the year of appointment, then the appointment is made at ”Chargé de Cours” level. As of their appointment, members of academic staff are authorised to use the honorary title of ”Professeur”.
