We are looking for a highly motivated and talented postdoctoral researcher with a successful PhD degree and outstanding references and experience in the area of molecular biology, transgenic mouse models (cre-lox system), general animal experimentation, as well as a good background in cell biology and biochemistry. The group of Professor Jürg Gertsch ( at the Institute of Biochemistry and Molecular Medicine ( investigates the role of the endocannabinoid system (ECS) for neuropsychiatric and inflammatory conditions with a strong interest in drug discovery. In collaboration with our spin-off Synendos Therapeutics, we offer a postdoctoral position aiming at establishing novel assays and designing a knock-in mouse model related to endocannabinoid membrane transport and its investigation in stress-related behavioral paradigms.

Our lab uses chemical biology, LC-MS/MS analytics, molecular biology and biochemical methods and behavioral mouse models. The ambitious candidate with a genuine interest in basic research and transgenic mouse models will lead the project together with a PhD student and another postdoc and be part of a bigger team working on the ECS. Fluent spoken and written English are prerequisites and German is a plus. The position is available immediately (Jan 2021) for the duration of 3 years.
