Title: Postdoctoral Fellows/Scholars in neuroscience, Alzheimer’s disease, regenerative medicine, and wound healing, and polymer chemistry

Position Summary: The Neuroscience Center at the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center (LSUHSC) in New Orleans is seeking motivated scientists with PhD with expertise in biological, medical, biochemical, or biomaterial field to fill multiple Postdoctoral Fellows/Scholar positions from now until they are filled. 


Our laboratory studies regenerative medicine, Alzheimer’s disease-associated brain neurodegeneration, burn injury, wound healing impaired by diabetes or aging, skin biology / dermatology, neuropathy, inflammation, leukocyte biology, and hydrogels and nanoparticles using animal and cell-culture models and comprehensive state-of-art facilities for cellular and molecular biology and neuroscience as well as LC - mass spectrometry. 


Our goal is to identify mechanisms underpinning Alzheimer’s disease, neurodegeneration, chronic wound healing, inflammation, neuropathy, chronic wound healing, inflammation, and develop therapeutic and diagnostic leads to treat these diseases. The incumbents will join the research team consisted of multidiscipline experts in the field, have ample opportunities to acquire and develop new skills, conduct and publish innovative research as well as to learn grant approaches. 

Salaries are highly competitive. These positions are supported by NIH grants and remain open until filled. 

Minimum Qualification: PhD in neuroscience and biological, medical, biochemical, or biomaterial field. 

Preferred Qualifications: PhD in neuroscience, Alzheimer’s disease or other neurodegenerative diseases, regenerative medicine, wound healing, burn injury, stem cell biology, immunology, diabetes, aging, skin biology / dermatology, neuropathy, inflammation, leukocyte biology, pain, pharmacology, polymer chemistry, or other closely related fields. Or MD with equivalent expertise. We emphasize the key qualifications including integrity, creativity, resourcefulness, enthusiasm, ability to grasp new knowledge and skill rapidly, and ability to identify novel query and leads and solutions to problems. The willingness to share the knowledge and information with and facilitate colleagues, to be responsible and prudent are also highly expected.
