The PhD candidate will be affiliated with Section 3: Risk and Stochastics at the Department of Mathematics, at the University of Oslo. Our research group develops the theory for modelling and managing different forms of risk: economic, financial, insurance, technical, weather and technological. All of energy, finance and insurance industry evolves around risk analysis, in the same way as planning and control of projects and installations. In insurance mathematics, stochastic modelling and analysis are used for understanding different types of insurance risks such as mortality risk or interest rate risk, and in the derivation of fair premiums and reserves for insurance contracts.

The PhD will work within insurance mathematics. The research will mainly use stochastic analysis techniques and advanced mathematics to model uncertainties in the insurance world.
