The PhD research project will be to develop methods and instrumentation for analysis of very limited amounts of biological samples. The project will be centered around the development of liquid chromatography columns that can be coupled on-line with organ-on-a-chip and mass spectrometry or can be used for single-cell analysis.
The developed columns will be made in different format, e.g. packed, monolithic or open tubular. Alternatives to traditional fused silica column housing, e.g. chip or 3D printing formats should be explored. The columns will be used to measure metabolites from organoids, e.g. to evaluate drug metabolism or toxicity. The work will be performed in a multidisciplinary collaboration with the Center of Excellence Hybrid Technology Hub
