The Faculty of Business Management and Social Sciences invites applications to be appointed by the earliest date possible for the tenured position of  

PROFESSORSHIP FOR CONNECTIVITY AND EMPOWERMENT OF PEOPLE

The incumbent is required to have completed a university degree in the field or focal area of Computer Science or Applied Computer Science e.g. Medical Informatics, Health Informatics or Business Informatics. As the professorship is highly interdisciplinary, the future incumbent is assumed to be qualified in the healthcare subject domain by virtue of a degree, a doctorate, numerous research projects or practical experience in order that they may carry out practice-oriented teaching also in health-related study programmes. 

The future incumbent is expected to have a particular aptitude for in-depth and independent academic work, of which an above-average doctorate is usually indicative, as well as a minimum of five years’ practical professional experience, of which at least three years are to have been outside of a university context. 

A high level of research expertise is additionally expected of the incumbent which is demonstrable, for example, by the acquisition of third-party funding or regular exchange with the international scientific community. Collaboration in the Lower Saxony inter-university “Zukunftslabor Digitalisierung Gesundheit” (Future Laboratory: Digitalisation of Health) project is both possible and desired. Relevant experience and enjoyment of teaching - also in English - as well as experience in supporting young academics are required.

The formal employment requirements, moreover, are in accordance with section 25 of the NHG.

The professorship is linked to a research assistant position (qualification position) and with corresponding information technology facilities and infrastructure, the structure of which is to be arranged in collaboration with the successful candidate.

You will support us in our self-administration and ongoing development of the university. You will participate in the faculty’s digitalisation strategy as well as in our international orientation - e.g. by conducting classes in the English language or cooperating with universities abroad in teaching, research and the support of young academics.
