The Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) is an internationally oriented university specialized in engineering, science & technology. We are known for our great scientific impact and development of technological innovations. Next to the nine departments, there is a central TU/e organisation to provide innovation support services in the field of strategic partnerships, research support and knowledge valorisation. This highly contributes to the TU/e realizing intensive strategic cooperation with industry, development and acquisition of innovative research projects and support and guidance of high-tech start-ups and spin-offs of the TU/e.
Function description:
The Research Support Office (RSO) consists of a small, close-knit team of professionals who support the scientific staff in applying for European and national grants for research. The RSO team consists of a research funding advisors, grant consultants (for the various grant programmes for research), project leaders and a team of corporate lawyers.
In view of the imminent retirement of the current Senior Research Funding Advisor, we are looking for a successor in the short term. We are looking for a professional colleague to strengthen the scientific and support staff in developing a funding strategy and enabling the definition and submission of competitive proposals for collaborative research. The focus of this support is the European Research and Innovation Framework Programme, Horizon Europe, as well as he Digital Europe programme. National programmes initiated by the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) are also part of this new colleague's focus.
You will work at a central level at the Research Support Office and be the specialist within the university for at least the Horizon Europe and the Digital Europe programme and relevant RVO programmes (like the EUREKA clusters ITEA and PENTA and the Eurostars programme). Informing and facilitating boards of departments, researchers and the decentralised support within the Research Support Network is an important part of your function. In addition, you develop and maintain a network of relevant national and international stakeholders.
Specific responsibilities of the Senior Research Funding Advisor:
You have an academic level of work and thinking. You are communicatively skilled and strong in conveying and sharing knowledge. You have a good written and oral command of the English and Dutch languages. You are well acquainted with the European research programs and have extensive experience in supporting researchers in writing applications for grants and giving presentations/training. Furthermore, you are able to motivate professionals and coordinate their activities. You are proactive, customer-oriented, analytical, result-oriented and an experienced networker. You are independent and flexible and can work well with colleagues inside and outside the team.
