The faculty of Education and Psychology is currently seeking to recruit a candidate to the position of 

POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCHER in research of Digitally Enhanced Learning Environments

The position can start on 3rd May 2021 or thereafter, for a fixed term of two years. The two-year position can be used within the period between 3.5.2021 - 31.12.2024. The applicant will be asked to indicate and provide argumentation for the starting and ending point of the 2-year period the applicant wishes to apply for.

Qualifications we are looking for

The position is linked to one of the foci of the 4-year faculty level Activity Plan for years 2021-24, namely the focal area of development of digital learning environments and tools in research and teaching.  The position furthers the goals seeking to develop interactional and technology-enhanced environments, learning technologies, and digital skills in the research and education within the faculty.

The duties, qualification requirements and language skills of a postdoctoral researcher are stipulated by the University of Jyväskylä Regulations and language skills guidelines. In the present position a PhD in educational sciences or applicable field is required.  The PhD  degree required for the position must have been completed before starting the position. A good command of English is required and a proficiency to teach in English will be considered beneficial. You are expected to have excellent written and oral communication skills and to be able to work in research team settings

The focus of the post-doctoral position is on internationally high level of research. The applicant is required to show strong prior evidence of research in the field, and demonstrate active research initiatives and research collaboration  which strengthens the focal area of the call. Strengths taken into account in evaluation of applicants include evidence of research networks, experience and evidence of competitive research funding, strong methodological expertise and development and experience of multidisciplinary research and groups.  Research using, developing and analysing technologies with a focus on learning processes and interactions is considered and experience of multidisciplinary research collaboration are considered strengths. Assets that may be considered in the selection include teaching experience and pedagogical development work and evidence of scientific or societal impact in the field.

The annual salary range will be approximately 38,000 EUR for the Postdoctoral Researcher (gross income, including holiday bonus), depending on the qualifications and experience of the candidate. A trial period of six months will be used in the beginning of the employment.

2) A numbered list of all academic and other publications the applicant wants to use to demonstrate his/her eligibility and merits for the position. The list of publications must comply with the guidelines of the Academy of Finland
3) A brief (2-4 pages) written account of the applicant’s prior scientific research and merits including a plan of future goals and research interests linked to the position, account of international collaboration and networking,  evidence of experience of responsibilities in and leading projects with competitive external funding and of scientific and societal impact.
